Of course, REHIAR is short for Robert Elmes Home Improvement and Repair, and my goal is to be rehired by everyone I do work for. My work is all about Quality. Quality is taking 'the time it takes' and exploiting 'know how' to reach it. I'm a firm believer in the old adage, "You get what you pay for", and I believe in striving to give you my best so that "getting what you paid for" is something that we both can be proud of.
Just like my approach to each and every word on this website, the same will be applied to each and every job that I do.

Owner History:
REHIAR is owned and operated by me, Robert Elmes, a residential home improvement carpenter with over 21 years of hands on experience. With an over sensitive eye for detail, I am dedicated to a high grade quality of work. Willing to go the extra mile, I want the best quality of craftsmanship in every job I do, no matter how minor the job may be.
I began my construction career in 1989 in Garland, Texas as an apartment maintenance tech doing renovations and repairing apartment suites at a run down apartment complex called Chateau Arms. Two years later in 1992, I made the trek to Fayetteville, AR where I started framing spec and custom homes all the while doing handyman work. Six years later, I became a crew leader for a local framing crew. I did this for the next three years before I ended up owning my own framing company in 2003 of which I ran for the next four years. Starting in 2007 after the housing boom crashed, I took a supervisor position with Strough Construction of Berryville. Ar., a local commercial and residential construction company performing remodel, renovations, and add-ons before moving on into offering my services to the local community.
My knowledge and experience was learned and earned the hard way, one nail at a time.
Due to family reasons, I came to New Orleans and I am now ready to offer my skills and experience in service to all the fine citizens of the Greater New Orleans area. My knowledge and skill are at your disposal, for I am ready, willing, and able to take on your home improvement and repair needs.

Overhead:
REHIAR is a home based business with very little overhead from having to maintain an office space, shop, employees, and other extra costs that the bigger companies have to charge for, thus passing the savings on to you.
Overhead is figured into the hourly wage or estimate given to help pay for the costs of doing business. For example, the hourly wage is figured at $20.00 and an additional $5.00 is for business costs for a total of $25.00/hr.
These are my expenses that's required of me:
Advertisement: newspaper and internet costs.
Fuel and truck expenses.
Phone expenses.
Tool repair and maintenance.
Office expenses.
