Mission Statement: 

URHome is a home based business with practically no overhead from having to maintain an office space, shop, employees, and other extra costs that the bigger companies have to charge for, thus passing the savings on to you. We only purchase the materials that is needed for each specific project and only charge for the labor that's needed to install it.

Meet the owner/operator:

URHome Improvement and Repair is owned and operated by Robert Elmes, an experienced residential home improvement carpenter for over 20 years. He has hands-on training and experience in construction methods and he is dedicated to a high grade quality of work. Willing to go the extra mile, he wants the best quality of craftsmanship in every job he does, no matter how minor the work may be.

He began his career in 1989 in Garland, Texas as an apartment maintenance tech renovating and repairing apartment suites at a run down apartment complex called Chateau Arms. Two years later in 1992, Robert made the trek to Fayetteville, AR where he started framing spec and custom homes while doing handyman work. Six years later, he became a crew leader for a local framing crew. He did this for the next three years before he ended up owning his own framing company in 2003 of which he ran for the next four years. Starting in 2007 after the housing boom crashed, he took supervisor positions with local commercial and residential construction companies performing remodel and add-ons before moving on into offering his services to the local community.

His knowledge and experience was learned and earned the hard way, one nail at a time.

Due to family reasons, Robert came to New Orleans and he is now ready to offer his experience and know how in service to all the fine citizens of the Greater New Orleans area. His knowledge and skill are at your disposal, for he is ready, willing, and able to take on your home improvement and repair needs.

Like Service Masters, I refuse to pay them for their positive endorsements of my skills. I let my work do the talking for me.

They have not received any complaints about my quality of work and service because customer satisfaction is my primary goal.

Sometimes some assistance is needed for the work being done, so other individuals are brought in to assist me. Not wanting to mislead the public, the pronoun "we" is often a substitute for the personal pronoun of "I". Personal letter from the Owner:

Greetings:

    My name is Robert Elmes and I'm the owner and lead carpenter of URHome Improvement and Repair. I've spent my entire career in residential construction with just over twenty years of experience in it.

   Due to family reasons, my family and I moved from the Northwest Arkansas area to our new home in Metairie, in hopes of serving the Greater New Orleans area. We bring with us our high standards of quality in hopes of giving new found value to your home. 
 
  Throughout the years, I have participated in most of every phase of residential construction of which allows me to understand how each construction phase is intertwined with the next phase. This gives me a well rounded approach to tackling different aspects of a job that requires multiple skills. My main goal and desire is to be a blessing to those that I do serve by being professional and by doing good quality work. 

   I pay very close attention to detail for I have always said that it's the "little things" that determines a builds quality. A finished project has to look right in quality and finish before I'm satisfied to call it done; for if the job doesn't look good, we don't look good. I therefore believe in the quality of work that I do so that I'm not afraid to put my name on it.
