The Safars had outdated, homemade kitchen cabinets in their guest house that were in need of repair.
A few doors stuck and drawers without glides would barely open.
I suggested that they would be much happier with a new set of cabinets.

Demo day. It looked like so much fun, the homeowner jumped in to help rip out the old cabinets.

In addition, the Safars also wanted to finish the floor, which is pictured on another project page (
Safar Kitchen Remodel 2).
After the cabinets were pulled, we stripped the floor.

To seal off the flooring from any air leaks, especially under the cabinets, we installed Tyvek house wrap for a wind breaker.
Tyvek: not just for exterior walls anymore!
.

The homeowners went and bought stock store cabinets and a moulded counter top from a local home improvement store.
I installed them and attached the counter top.

We traced the sink for it's hole.
The tapes is to protect the counter's finish.

A hole is then cut using a special laminate jig saw blade.
The finished set.
Notice the new floor under lay, ready for flooring.
Thumbs-up from a happy homeowner!
He was happy that he took my suggestion and went with all new cabinets.
